Sunday Sept 16, 2007 - Vets Skatepark |
Due to work and a project going "live", I had to drive over Sunday to Atlanta instead of the usual Monday morning drive. I decided to go early and just make a day of
skating at Brook Run. The weather was perfect (high around 79 and not a cloud in the sky)!!! I had wanted to see what the park was like on a weekend anyways, so this was a
chance to kill two birds with one stone. A group from Birimingham was suppose to come along as well, but Bombshelter Barry (Brew Crew) had partied too much the night before
and didn't get up in time to go. As he was suppose to drive the rest of them ....Danny, Tim Spinosi, Hosey, etc...no one ended up going. Oh well, it looked like I would be skating with
whoever was at Brook Run anyways. As it turned out, I actually skated through about 3 different rotations of sessions at the bowl throughout the day. I got there around 2:30,
just after the bike session ended at 2pm, and all the skaters were let loose on the park. I skated through the day with only short "beverage" breaks till about 7pm.
During that time, we had a session from about 2:30-4pm, another small one from 4:30-5:30 or so and then the bigger old man session got going around 6pm or so. It was good to
see some friends out there and make new ones too...Raymondo, Eric, Zack(Borat from CT forum), Sid, Rick (from ATLSkater.com), Jerry, Ken, Parrish, Stan, and MANY more. By 7pm, I was
just beat. My legs would no longer extend...like bending to pump and your knees just keep bending. haha My hydraulics were shot! =) Packed up, took a few photos and told
everyone good-bye.....till this week's sessions tuesday and wednesday! |
