Another beautiful fall weekend and perfect day for skating. Earlier in the week emails were sent out, calls were made, forums were posted on to plan this session and try
to get more folks out to the bowl. The turnout was great! More people were skating the bowl than probably any session since maybe April or so! From 1 pm onward, we had locals and
visitors alike skating throughout the whole day. We even skated into the night with the lights on for once! The sessions included locals Tim Spinosi, Chris Solomon(me...hehe),
Brian Parks, Danny, Brad Lovette, Noel (skated early and left around 3pm), Keaton, Chris and Zach (brothers and new skaters), Jason, and visitors from Gulf Shores, Tater and
Tom "Baller" Ball (making it two Sundays in a row!).
Also, Andy Rice came out to check things out and take photos through the day. He plans to start skating soon, so maybe we have another new bowl skater in the making. Lastly,
Barry Gilliland showed up near the end of the session (surprised? haha). He took maybe 4-5 runs and then bailed out on a frontside carve in the shallow and rolled his ankle. He was done
before he even got warmed up. It had been chilly pretty much all day around the bowl as it was in the shade, but when night fell, it got downright cold! Around 6pm, many
folks packed up and called it a day. The Gulf Shores guys were still skating the bowl when I left. They were driving all the way back after the session too! I was soooo tired
by the time I made it home. Another great day at the skate park had come to an end, and I am already looking forward to the next one! |
